In one of her interviews, Dolly said, “Most of the tattoos, when I first started, I was covering up some scars that I had. ‘cause I have a tendency to have keloid scar tissue.” She further added and I have a tendency where, if I have any kind of scars anywhere, then they kind of have a purple tinge that I can never get rid of,” she said. “So mine are all pastels, what few that I have, and they’re meant to cover some scars. I’m not trying to make some big, bold statement.”
In another interview with “Good Morning America”, she revealed to her fans that she wants to get rid of the purple scars. She said, “I thought, ‘Well, I’m going to kind of decorate these with some flowers or little butterflies or whatever.”
In some interviews, when she was asked about why she wears gloves Dolly joked. And said she wears gloves just because it is cold.
So, Dolly’s gloves are more likely a matter of style. It might also be possible that Dolly is hiding some of the features behind her gloves, but we can’t say anything until Dolly tells the actual reason. Till then we will perceive the gloves as part of her signature attire.
