Forbes revealed the news on the 11th of November.

This has been several hours, the service is not available for the users. The subscribers of this feature have the perception that Twitter might have disabled the feature following the increasing number of verified impersonated accounts.

As users are unable to find the Twitter Blue feature on their handles, they are wondering to know the reason behind it. However, Twitter has not addressed the issue so far.

Well, the actual reason behind Twitter Blue’s disappearance is unknown; reports claim that it is a result of a wave of impersonators.

As the Twitter Blue feature enables users to get a blue tick, a number of impersonator accounts pretending to be high-profile celebrities and organizations having blue ticks have emerged on the platform.

One Twitter handle titled @EliLillyandCo emerged with a blue tick. Eli Lilly is one of three major companies that produce insulin. The account later proved to be fake after it made a Tweet saying, The account tweeted “we are excited to announce insulin is free now”.

The fake Tweet remained on the platform for several hours and it went viral. Later, the real drugmaker Eli Lilly and Co released an apology statement. They said, “We apologize to those who have been served a misleading message from a fake Lilly account. Our official Twitter account is @LillyPad,”.

This issue emerged right after Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced that accounts that engage in impersonation without clearly stating they are parody profiles, will immediately get banned.
