Instagram is working really hard to keep the level of its user experience on the top. From changes to messages and stories to reels and feeds the application has made several changes since its launch. Even though the platform has made it to the list of leading social media applications, it still believes there is more room for improvement, thus the app is making continuous changes.
This time the former only photo-sharing app has come with another new feature that allows the users to like the Instagram stories. If you are still unaware of how to like Instagram stories here is everything you need to know.
How To Like Stories On Instagram?
Instagram users are so excited as their favorite social media platform has come up with another new feature. This feature has now enabled the users to like the pictures of their friends being shared in the Instagram stories.
Previously, the only way to interact with the stories was to respond with a reaction. Also, the users had the option to send a direct message in response to a story. But now, the users will get to know how many of their followers genuinely like their stories.
The Instagram CEO, Adam Mosseri took it to Twitter to reveal this exciting feature on 14th Feb 2022. Here is what the Tweet read: “Starting to roll out today, you can now send some love by liking people’s Stories without sending a DM”. He further added, “Likes on Stories are private and do not have counts. Rather, they appear as hearts next to people’s handles in your Stories view sheet.”
Liking a story also is quite simple, all you have to do is tap on the small heart icon appearing at the bottom of the story section. You will find this icon between the ‘send message’ box and the little paper airplane symbol.
As you tap on the heart icon, the person who has added the story will find a heart next to your profile icon in their viewer sheet.
If you are unable to spot this option, you might not be in the regions where Instagram has rolled this option for now.
You Can Now Like Instagram Stories
It is a common practice for social media applications that they roll out features in specific regions to check the feasibility of the feature. Once tested, the features are then made available to the rest of the users around the world.
Quite similar is the case of this new feature, it is not made available for all its users but the users are set to get the option in a month or twice.
While revealing how beneficial the Instagram feature would be, CEO Instagram Adam Mosseri said that it will “clean up DM’s” by enabling users like the stories “without worrying about cluttering up your messages”.
Users who are unable to spot the feature have taken it to Twitter asking how they can like stories on Instagram. Well, the answer is, if you are unable to find this option on your story section you might need to wait for a month or two.
