What Happened To Dj Gio?
Dj Gio is dead following a fatal shooting on Sunday 10th April 2022. As revealed by the Sacramento Police Department, DJ Gio is dead alongside another person in the shooting that happened on Amelia Earhart Avenue in Natomas in the early hours of Sunday (April 10th).
This is the first incident of the year that took place following a similar incident that happened last year. The sudden demise of DJ Gio of Sacramento has saddened his fans and they have gathered to pay him tribute.
Talking about the sudden passing of DJ Gio, his friend and community activist Berry Accius said, “To get the call that he is dead, it makes no sense. This is not a place where they deem or a place where gun violence is supposed to happen.”
A candlelight memorial was held for the late artist where hundreds of fans and friends of Gio gathered to pay him tribute.
Gio’s mother also participated in the candlelight memorial and she remembered her son in an emotional speech.
She said, “While the time he was 12, he said ‘mom I need you to help me get DJ equipment. He said I am gonna be doing house parties and promise I am gonna pay you. He started doing house parties and he paid me back every cent.”
Who Was DJ Gio?
Dj Gio aka George Zeitoun was born on July 30th, 1985 in Damascus, Syria. He started playing musical instruments at a young age. He started playing trumpet at the age of 11 and the trombone at 16. Later in the year 2004, he performed at his first live DJ show.
Gio was a talented techno musician and sound engineer. In the year 2012, Gio moved to Lebanon where he started producing music and also performed at several events.
His first remix amenni Slek ft. Moh’d Foad was rolled in the year 2017, following which he moved to Canada to continue pursuing his music career.
Artists who have worked closely with Dj have extended their prayers and condolences following his death.
While paying tribute to Dj Gio, Garibaldi Tweeted: “Just seeing news about DJ GIO… Unreal, and I hate to see one of the kindest people taken from us. He was more than a DJ in #sacramento he was so supportive of anyone he came across. Rest easy man.”
