Though TikTok takes all the precautionary measures to keep the app safe for all, the content creators manage to come up with bizarre trends anyway. This time, parents on the TikTok app are again concerned as the Skull Breaker has once again emerged on the video-sharing app.
What Is The Skull Breaker Challenge On TikTok?
As the name suggests, Skull Breaker Challenge is one of the dodgiest challenges on TikTok which asks the users to trick someone into jumping high in the air and then swipe the person’s legs before they land on the ground. Swiping their legs will make them lose their balance and they will hurt their spine, head, back, or any other part of their body. The idea is to hurt the head/skull of the person.
This trend is often attempted by young school kids and many children have faced severe injuries following this bizarre trend. From spine injuries to fatal neck injuries, participants of this trend have gone through severe injuries.
The Skull Breaker Challenge initially emerged on TikTok in 2020 and thousands of young students participated in the trend. As several participants of this challenge underwent severe injuries, TikTok took action and removed the hashtag Skull Breaker Challenge from the platform.
Seems like removing the hashtag of this trend was not enough as the trend has once again emerged on the video-sharing app.
Several content creators have come forward to talk about this concerning challenge. Even the education ministry has warned students about the consequences of the trend. Reporting the instructions put forward by the Education Ministry, BFM News wrote on Twitter, “The Education Ministry warns students who take part in the Skullbreaker’ challenge can be expelled from school. According to The Sun, stern action will be taken against those who play the prank, and they can be charged under the Penal Code for causing harm to others.”
Skull Breaker Challenge Has Resurfaced On The TikTok App
The Skull Breaker Challenge is once again making headlines on the internet as a 13-year-old boy has become a victim of this trend. 13-year-old Josiah Garmon broke his arms as a few students tricked him to jump in the air and afterward they kicked his legs. Poor Garmon crashed on the ground and broke his arm.
Garmon’s parents have sued the Palm Beach County School District, alleging negligence during the ‘Skull Breaker’ TikTok challenge. Talking about the injuries of Garmon his mother Morgan said, “I saw his hand hanging off his arm. And that made me so just emotional”.
Morgan later came to know that Garmon’s video was already circulating on social media platforms.
Talking about how this challenge Garmon further said, “I thought my life was ruined because it was in the middle of my basketball season”. He further added, “It was just so terrible. I couldn’t even see my friends, and everybody wanted to know what was happening.”
The family attorney, Patrick Lawler has also talked about the incident saying, “They see it as funny, but as you know from research, kids have died from this”. He further added, “What did the school know? What did not just Boca Middle but the entire school system? And if they didn’t know, then what are they doing? What the hell are they doing?”
Well, this is not the only incident that affected young children. The TikTok Skull Breaker Challenge has resulted in severe injuries to young school kids.
