This enchantment can be done to axe, shovels, and pickaxe. In total, there are 3 levels of Fortune. You can play by yourself or you can play online with others. The smartphone and tablet versions offer multiplayer options through WiFi networks. Players can connect to thousands of Minecraft online games (servers), some of which involve battling other players.
Minecraft Fortune On An Axe
Fortune on an axe increases your chances to get apples or sapling from a tree as well as gives you more melons from watermelons when you break it. It might also work on mushrooms. Using this enchantment on axe won’t grant you more wood, but you will get some more benefits. An axe is a common item that players usually bring with them while exploring. Fortune is an enchantment applied to mining and digging tools that increases the amount and/or chances of specific item drops.
It does not increase experience drops. For coal ore, diamond ore, emerald ore, lapis lazuli ore, nether gold ore, and nether quartz ore, Fortune I gives a 33% chance to multiply drops by 2 (averaging 33% increase), Fortune II gives a chance to multiply drops by 2 or 3 (25% chance each, averaging 75% increase), and Fortune III gives a chance to multiply drops by 2, 3, or 4 (20% chance each, averaging 120% increase).
They also interact with blocklike mobs, or moving creatures. (Creepers and zombies are some of the dangerous ones.) In Creative, players are given supplies and do not have to eat to survive. They also can break all kinds of blocks immediately.
What Does Fortune Do In Minecraft?
The Fortune enchantment increases the block drops from mining. For example, with the Fortune enchantment you will have a better chance of getting flint from gravel or an apple from a tree. You can add the Fortune enchantment to any pickaxe, shovel or axe using an enchanting table, anvil or game command. Then use the enchanted tool to mine and see just how many blocks are dropped!!
The maximum level for the Fortune enchantment is Level 3. This means that you can enchant an item with up to Fortune III. The higher the level, the more powerful the enchantment. Once you have a tool (ie: pickaxe, shovel, or axe) that is enchanted with Fortune, you need to hold the enchanted item in your hand. You will not gain the increased block drops until the tool is held in your hand and used.
The Minecraft Wiki tells us that Fortune applies to a certain set of blocks, but a person who I know and trust tells me that he has seen it work on iron ore, and gold ore blocks, which seems to contradict what I see in the wiki.
Fortune works differently for different things. Most notably, at Fortune III you have a 20% chance to get twice as many drops, a 20% chance to get 3 times as many drops and a 20% chance to get 4 times as many drops for Coal, Diamond and Lapis Lazuli.
All others work similarly to Looting on a sword, increasing the maximum limit and therefore increasing the chance that it drops a lot of things, but not explicitly doubling or tripling the dropped amount.

Fortune on an Axe increases the amount of drops when the Axe is used for certain activities. The higher the Fortune level, the greater the likelihood of receiving a drop or an increased amount of drop. When used on leaves it increases the odds of receiving apples, sticks and saplings.
