To spice up the game field, the game developers of Pokemon Go keep adding new characters to the gameplay. This time, Galarian Slowpoke and Galarian Slowbro have entered the game to make the gameplay more interesting.
These characters are rolled on June 8th at 10:00 AM in the ongoing event “A Very Slow Discovery”. These Pokemons will be available for the players to catch till June 13th at 8:00 PM in players’ local times. So the closing time is almost here. It is the last chance for the players to catch these pokemons.
Let’s discover how to catch these pokemons in the Pokemon Go!
What Is Galarian Slowpoke
Galarian Slowpoke is a new addition to the current in-game event A Very Slow Discovery. These new Pokemons, Galarian Slowpoke and Galarian Slowbro are quite different from the Pokemons we have seen before now. As we look at the types of these pokemons, Galarian Slowpoke is a pure Psychic-type Pokemon which then evolves into the dual Poison and Psychic-type, Galarian Slowbro.
Players have very little time to go out and catch their Galarian Slowpoke. You should also know that the current Collection Challenge can only be completed if players catch the Galarian Slowpoke before the event ends.
The Pokemon players can encounter the Galarian Slowpoke as a one star raid boss during the A Very Slow Discovery. However, the Galarian Slowpoke isn’t the only boss appearing as one star raid boss, Alolan Grimer, Shellder, Shinx, and Timburr may also appear instead.
According to the game players who have just finished the challenge, the players who will choose to battle Galarian Slowpoke in a raid will be able to finish it off just by themselves. Contrary to this, the players who want to go for overkill can go against its weaknesses including Bugs, Ghost, and Dark-type moves.

How To Evolve Galarian Slowpoke
The second method to catch the Galarian Slowpoke is to complete field research tasks. These tasks are exclusively designed for this specific event. To be able to get these tasks, players should spin PokeStops and have a free space in their field research task list. Not all these tasks will grant an encounter with a Galarian Slowpoke but if they do, you must follow the below steps.
- Evolve three Slowpoke
- Win a raid in under 60 seconds
As the players encounter with the Galarian Slowpoke, they will need to evolve it to Galarian Slowbro. The process of evolving Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro is a strange one. Initially, players will have to select the Galarian Slowpoke as their buddy Pokemon.
Following this, they will have to catch 30 Poison-type Pokemon whilst keeping the Galarian Slowpoke as their active buddy. This way, you will unlock the ability for Galarian Slowpoke to evolve using 50 Slowpoke candies.
As the event timings are running out, this is the best time for players to amass up on Poison-type Pokemon. Because the Grimer and Gulpin are among the increased Pokemon spawn for the event.
Besides this, players will also get the opportunity to catch Alolan Grimer and Toxicroak from raid battles to help with the Poison-type count. Players may also luckily get Gulpin as a reward for field research tasks.
Bottom Line
This was all about the latest event from Pokemon Go. Hopefully, the information provided here will help you rack up on the Galarian Slowpoke and evolve it.
