Let’s have a look at Apple Events 2020 through this article.
The renowned Apple Company traditionally organizes a maximum of four events in a year. One in spring (usually in March), one in summer (June), and the other two held in fall in September and October. It never prefers to participate in industry-wide events like CES or E3.
Each of these events promotes and announces its brand new products produced during the year. The spring event is usually dedicated to launching its iPads and iPhones. The Worldwide Developers Conference usually occurs in June. September even usually focuses on iPhone and if there are iPads and Macs.
Has the event calendar for 2020 going the way it has been planned? Apple announces its events two week prior to the actual event date. So, it’s hard to tell but let’s see which events have occurred so far.
Spring Event 2020
As already mentioned, the first event of Apple usually occurs in March. We were expecting an event in March, perhaps on March 31, but the global health crisis delayed Apple’s plans. Therefore, there was no spring event.
Although in March and April Apple introduced some of its products through some press releases. In March, Apple introduced a new MacBook Air and new iPad Pro models. Similarly, it launched the 2020 iPhone SE in April.
Apple Event September 2020
For around last few years, Apple in his September events introduces new iPhones. So, this year the expected date for this event can be in the first or second week of September.
Several rumors are surfacing about the delay of the event till October. Other rumors suggest that new iPhones will be available until a later time because of the supply chain being slow in 2020.
Some of the expected features in its models of iPhone will be 5G connectivity, upgraded cameras with “time of flight” sensors. Once again the high-end models will feature OLED displays while the less expensive model will have an LCD. We can certainly expect the new iPhones to have a new A14 processor.
The 6.7-inch and one of the 6.1-inch iPhone models will be “Pro” priced higher than the previous versions. These are expected to be more affordable alternatives like the iPhone 11.
It also a usual practice of Apple to bring new Apple Watch models in September. Thus, it is likely that we are going to see the Apple Watch Series 6, probably with sleep tracking capabilities.
Apple convention 2020 or WWDC
This year it was Apple’s 31st Worldwide Developers Conference on June 22nd. It was first ever virtual event or digital-only capacity event. Because of the ongoing pandemic crisis no physical gathering could occur in California.
Most of all, the event was free for all. This online event not only enabled millions of developers to get access to future versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS but also engaged with Apple engineers through engineering sessions, one-on-one lab appointments, and the revamped Apple Developer Forums.
The WWDC main highlights include the initiation of iOS and iPadOS 14, macOS Big Sur (which is finally macOS version 11!), watchOS 7, and tvOS 14. Moreover, a few other software updates like improvements to AirPods and AirPods Pro.
