The posts scheduling feature of Instagram was announced on November 8th. The Instagram head Adam Mosseri revealed this new feature in one of his videos shared on Twitter. He calls the scheduling feature a “finally feature”, as it is among the long-awaited features of Instagram.

In the video, Instagram head Adam Mosseri has also explained the steps to schedule a post on Instagram. He captioned the video, “Some “finally features” that I think you’re going to be excited about… – Schedule Posts (coming soon) – IG Web Updates”.

This new feature helps the users to schedule photos and videos so they post at a specific time up to 75 days in the future. Once the scheduled time reaches, it will automatically get posted on the platform. This latest feature on Instagram was available on Facebook for quite a long now.

Instagram has further revealed that this feature is currently available for Android users only. However, it will be made available for iOS users really soon.

The official Instagram Twitter account has also revealed the news of this feature’s arrival saying, “Plan ahead, Creators and business accounts can now schedule posts up to 75 days out.

If you are looking to know how to schedule posts on Instagram, here is a step-by-step guide:

  • Tap on the plus icon and select the photo/video you want to schedule.
  • Tap on the next button until you reach the last section where you normally write the caption.
  • At the bottom of this page, you will find the Advanced Settings option, tap on it.
  • Here, you will find the ‘Schedule Content’ option. Toggle the bar to schedule the post.
  • You will get a calendar where you have to specify the time and date when you want your post to be published.

If before the publishing date of the post you want to edit the scheduled post, you will have to go to your profile and click on the More menu. Here you will find your scheduled post, you can simply edit or remove it.

One thing that is worth mentioning here is, this feature is for creators and business accounts only. If you are an Android user but don’t have access to this feature, it is because you have a personal account. This feature is currently not available for personal accounts.

If you still want this feature, you will have to switch your accounts from personal to creator or business account. Shifting to a business or creator account is totally free. These special accounts have also additional tools and features. So, shifting to one of these types of accounts is not a bad idea.
