The trend has reached to alarming position in the UK. West Yorkshire Police has even urged shops to stop selling beans to kids. A police officer named “Michelle Owens” said, “It has come to the attention of the police that a new trend has started by groups of youths called ‘beaning’.”
“This involves youths throwing the contents of a can of beans over properties, very similar to the trend of throwing eggs at properties,” she continued.
“If you work in a shop, please can you be aware of youths buying large quantities of cans of beans. If you have children living at home, please be mindful if you see them removing cans of beans from the family home.”
Users have also discussed the trend on Twitter and various other social media platforms. One user wrote on Twitter, The big discussion on British morning TV today is “beaning”. It is apparently an evil trend that’s “taking over” TikTok, where kids pour baked beans on stuff. What a waste of beans. It’s being taken very, very seriously.”
Several users have also requested TikTok to ban the trend from the platform; however, no action has been taken so far.
