On the same day, this similar screenshot was shared to a Reddit subgroup “/r/GoodFakeTexts” by a user known on Reddit as u/JoffaCXD1. It gained over 2,200 upvotes in less than a year.

The Last Josh Meme started spreading on all social media platforms after April 2020. The screenshot of the Facebook group conversation was then posted by a Facebook page “Abey saley” on April 27th, 2020. On this same day, a famous Instagram meme account named @pubity, posted this screenshot and garnered over 633,000 likes in less than a year.
On that similar day a Reddit user u/Nu1tr4 shared an image macro to a subreddit /r/dankmemes, which featured Abey saley’s Josh Swain screenshot and an added image from The Matrix depicting the fight between the Josh’s.
It garnered over 41,500 upvotes in less than 12 months. Another redditor “u/nailmot0rcycle” posted the same screenshot to subreddit “/r/me_irl”. It racked up more than 59,000 upvotes form the Redditors.
After this, the meme sank on the internet for few months but in January 2021, users again started reminding each other about the due date for Josh’s fight. On January 19th, 2021 a Facebook page “Hey Admin, Sauce Please” posted an image macro of the meme with the caption “Just reminding all of you that we only have a couple more weeks to go until the fight”.
